Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical authority and trusted advisor for multiple engineering teams.
- Drive architecture, system design, scalability, performance, reliability, and security decisions across applications and platforms.
- Establish engineering standards, coding guidelines, code review practices, testing strategies, and architectural patterns.
- Design scalable and resilient data and application architectures and lead modernization involving cloud, big data, automation, and AI technologies.
- Mentor Engineering 1, Engineering 2, and Engineering 3 engineers and support their technical and career development.
- Act as the senior escalation point for critical production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
- Improve observability, monitoring, resiliency, operational stability, delivery velocity, and engineering productivity.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and lead data modernization, cloud transformation, performance optimization, and AI-assisted engineering initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years leading technical teams or working as a technical architect or lead.
- Advanced hands-on expertise in Java, Python, Apache Spark/PySpark, Databricks, and SQL.
- Experience with data engineering, big data platforms, Kafka or streaming technologies, distributed data processing, system design, architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience building and operating large-scale enterprise applications and data platforms.
- Strong experience with distributed systems, big data processing, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated ability to drive complex engineering initiatives from design through production support.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Comcast may also consider coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, ownership, and technical leadership abilities.
