Responsibilities
- Own and deliver Android application components using Java and Kotlin.
- Provide technical leadership for an agile development team and promote continuous integration, continuous deployment, automated testing, and software delivery improvements.
- Lead design, planning, estimation, requirements analysis, system analysis, and architecture discussions with technical and business stakeholders.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and maintain project and technical documentation.
- Identify and mitigate SDLC risks and resolve complex technical problems.
- Define and maintain coding, automated unit testing, debugging, implementation, and system architecture standards.
- Oversee production support, on-call rotations, post-mortems, root-cause resolution, and improvements to performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Mentor and advise mid-level developers, analysts, and graduates.
- Ensure application performance, quality, responsiveness, and delivery against functional and non-functional requirements.
- Lead product initiatives and develop next-generation prototypes.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Android development using Java or Kotlin.
- Strong knowledge of the Android SDK, Android flavors, and the Android ecosystem.
- Strong command of Android design principles, platform advantages, and limitations.
- Knowledge of design patterns including MVC, MVP, and MVVM.
- Experience consuming RESTful web services and integrating third-party services with Android applications.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, XML, and JSON.
- Knowledge of app or client-side configuration management systems such as Firebase.
- Experience with functional and reactive programming paradigms.
- Experience with system design and technology stack upgrades for highly available, secure, maintainable, performant, and scalable applications.
- Understanding of software architecture and scalable data-intensive architecture.
- Strong communication, analytical, critical-thinking, and software design abilities.
- Extensive experience with finance-related technology.
- Knowledge of machine learning topics relevant to fintech and operationalizing the end-to-end stack is preferred.
