Responsibilities
- Develop payment business logic in Kotlin for Android-based terminals and mobile phones.
- Build capabilities for card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and QR-code payments.
- Integrate payment terminals and mobile devices with the Adyen backend.
- Own features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Develop enterprise-level SDKs and libraries used by other engineers.
- Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and debugging.
- Contribute to technical solutions for secure and sustainable payment systems.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience writing Kotlin code.
- At least 8 years of experience building software for the Android platform.
- Experience developing enterprise-level SDKs.
- Expert knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Gradle, and dependency injection.
- Experience owning features through design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance.
- Experience writing and maintaining comprehensive automated unit and integration tests.
- Ability and desire to mentor and grow other engineers.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Preferred: Kotlin Multiplatform experience, C/C++ or Python knowledge, EMV or ISO8583 knowledge, experience building libraries, security best-practice knowledge, or payments-industry experience.
