Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and evolution of reusable iOS components using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit.
- Design scalable component APIs supporting variants, states, themes, composition, and accessibility.
- Translate Figma and design-system specifications into production-ready iOS components.
- Contribute to design tokens and foundations including color, typography, spacing, sizing, and themes.
- Establish iOS Design System architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Build accessibility, performance, quality, and maintainability into components by default.
- Support product-team adoption, identify recurring needs, and turn them into reusable solutions.
- Create documentation, examples, and guidance for engineers consuming shared libraries.
- Maintain automated unit, UI, snapshot, and visual regression tests where appropriate.
- Own component versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation, and migration strategies.
- Lead technical discussions, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and improve design-to-code workflows and developer experience.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of strong experience with Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, modern iOS SDKs, Swift Concurrency, modular architecture, and Swift Package Manager.
- Experience building or contributing to an iOS Design System, component library, or reusable platform.
- Strong component and API design skills, including understanding of variants, states, themes, and composition.
- Experience collaborating with designers and translating Figma specifications into robust iOS components.
- Strong understanding of iOS accessibility, including VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, accessibility labels and traits, and inclusive component behavior.
- Strong unit and UI testing experience; snapshot or visual regression testing experience is valuable.
- Understanding of rendering, memory management, concurrency, Instruments, debugging tools, CI/CD, and automated quality checks.
- Ability to make architectural decisions, communicate trade-offs, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and influence across teams.
- Focus on discoverability, documentation, examples, and ease of adoption for engineers using shared libraries.
- Experience with enterprise-scale Design Systems, Figma Variables, Code Connect, design-token pipelines, visual regression testing, developer documentation platforms, Web/Android Design Systems, developer tooling, automation, code generation, or AI-assisted development workflows is preferred.
