Responsibilities
- Build and improve MCP servers and clients, including tool definitions, inputs and outputs, error handling, and examples.
- Experiment with agent memory by determining what to save, how to retrieve it, and how it affects task quality.
- Wire tools and memory into agent loops and investigate where agents become confused, slow, or incorrect.
- Create documentation, fixtures, smoke tests, and fixes that help unblock teammates.
- Turn rough ideas into working implementations and refine them based on observed results.
- Pair with experienced teammates and take ownership of follow-up work.
Requirements
- Comfort writing and reading Python and willingness to improve quickly.
- Curiosity about AI agents, tools, prompts, context windows, and agent performance on real tasks.
- Interest in MCP, including how servers expose tools, clients call them, and contracts remain reliable.
- Interest in agent memory, including storage, retrieval, and its effect on agent behavior.
- Ability to take an ambiguous problem, try a small implementation, and communicate what was learned.
- Clear communication, willingness to ask for help, and ability to incorporate feedback.
- Willingness to practice readable code, small tests, and documentation.
- Experience building or using an MCP server or client is a strong plus.
- Experience with agent frameworks or tool calling is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with memory, caching, or conversation state in a product is a strong plus.
