Responsibilities
- Design and build custom software in Go to improve platform reliability, resiliency, and redundancy.
- Partner with engineering teams to apply reliability principles and improve availability, performance, and observability.
- Identify infrastructure and observability improvements and implement solutions within the product.
- Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation during standard local working hours to troubleshoot, mitigate, or escalate production incidents.
- Develop and refine SRE tooling, automation, and operational processes.
- Define, document, and champion reliability best practices across the organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical applications in a production environment with substantial autonomy.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Go, with the ability to build custom applications rather than only scripts.
- Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and ArgoCD.
- Demonstrable expertise with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, SQL and NoSQL databases, and networking fundamentals.
- Understanding of SRE principles including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Experience participating in an on-call rotation for a 24/7 cloud-based environment.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, communication, collaboration, and self-direction skills in a remote distributed team.
