Responsibilities
- Design and build custom software in Go to improve platform reliability, resiliency, and redundancy.
- Partner with engineering teams to embed reliability principles and improve service availability, performance, and observability.
- Identify infrastructure and observability improvements within the product and implement solutions.
- Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation during standard local working hours to respond to and troubleshoot critical incidents.
- Develop and refine SRE tooling and processes focused on automation and operational efficiency.
- Define, document, and champion reliability best practices across the organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical applications in a production environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, with a preference for Go, and the ability to write custom applications rather than only scripts.
- Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and ArgoCD.
- Demonstrable expertise with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, SQL and NoSQL databases, and networking fundamentals.
- Understanding of SRE principles including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Experience participating in an on-call rotation for a 24/7 cloud-based environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in a remote, distributed team.
