Responsibilities
- Meet KPIs and SLAs while maintaining and adhering to an error budget.
- Identify and implement preventative measures to minimize customer impact and improve service availability, performance, security, and operational readiness.
- Develop cloud application automation and shared services for platform and application teams.
- Maintain at least four nines of platform reliability and define non-functional requirements for scalable, highly available distributed systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues spanning DevOps, databases, networking, code, infrastructure, and people.
- Plan operational priorities, backlogs, epics, and sprints with engineering, cloud platform, operations, and product stakeholders.
- Prepare technical documents, provide recommendations in reviews, and align operational priorities with product and engineering roadmaps.
- Mentor SRE I and II engineers and guide junior engineers in best practices.
- Support investigations, testing, deployments, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM field is required.
- At least seven years of engineering experience is required.
- Strong Kubernetes experience and an observability background are required.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure as code, scripting, self-healing, containers, DevOps tooling, and distributed systems is highly desired.
- AWS experience is preferred, with optional Azure experience.
- Experience with Ansible and Terraform is highly desirable.
- Experience with the full lifecycle of SaaS implementations and infrastructure as code is required.
- Strong troubleshooting, scripting, technical, written, verbal communication, follow-up, and project management skills are required.
- Experience creating and maintaining tools, working with offshore teams, and operating in a distributed Linux environment is required; object-oriented programming is a plus.
