Responsibilities
- Develop orbiter GNC designs and perform guidance, control, navigation, dynamics, thruster, sensor, and covariance analyses.
- Design, implement, test, verify, and validate spacecraft GNC algorithms using software testing and simulation.
- Support unit, functional, system, MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL testing campaigns and evaluate test results from a GNC design perspective.
- Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight analysis and participate in spacecraft flight operations.
- Develop flight operation procedures and support ground-system interfaces and tool design.
- Troubleshoot GNC flight software algorithms and components and propose solutions for errors and misbehavior.
- Document GNC subsystem technical specifications and support future spacecraft development studies.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in AOCS or GNC subsystem engineering.
- Experience developing spacecraft navigation algorithms, including extended Kalman filters and orbital, attitude, and position calculations.
- Experience developing spacecraft attitude-control algorithms, including PID control, thruster commanding, modulation, and allocation.
- Experience with spacecraft 6DOF simulations involving state propagation, dynamics, hardware modeling, and closed-loop integration.
- Experience developing with C/C++, Python, and Git.
- Strong communication skills, a collaborative attitude, and business-level English proficiency.
- Preferred: 10 or more years of AOCS or GNC subsystem engineering experience.
- Preferred: space-industry systems engineering, spacecraft operations, MATLAB/Simulink, multi-language software integration, and real-time flight software implementation experience.
- Preferred: business-level Japanese communication skills.
