Base Salary
$499k - $900k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical direction of the ad-serving platform and partner across engineering teams to meet SLAs, SLOs, and uptime requirements.
- Architect concurrent, high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems and mitigate tail latency across core execution paths.
- Profile and tune network and system layers for I/O-bound and CPU-bound workloads.
- Build automated performance-benchmarking frameworks within the CI/CD pipeline to identify latency regressions.
- Design modular platform entry points for model-serving runtimes, budget and pacing systems, and programmatic demand engines.
- Ensure operational excellence, resiliency, maintainability, and graceful degradation during traffic spikes and live events.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building distributed systems, core backend infrastructure, or high-throughput platforms.
- Deep expertise writing optimized code in systems languages such as Java, Go, C++, or Rust, with experience handling high transaction volumes.
- Practical experience with multithreaded systems, concurrent programming, algorithmic design, lock-free data structures, or lock-contention mitigation.
- Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, network protocols, data partitioning, and I/O-bound and CPU-bound workloads.
- Experience with profiling and diagnostic tools, tail-latency analysis, execution-hotspot identification, telemetry, and monitoring hooks.
- Ability to translate complex algorithmic requirements, business logic, or data science models into extensible platform components.
- Comfort using modern development tools and LLM assistance while maintaining architectural oversight and code quality.
