Base Salary
$240k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy for critical Banking initiatives across multiple teams.
- Design and evolve reliable, scalable systems for money movement, bank account experiences, payment orchestration, and related financial infrastructure.
- Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into durable technical solutions with cross-functional partners.
- Identify and resolve systemic reliability, quality, and operability issues while improving observability, incident prevention, and engineering standards.
- Drive architecture reviews, align stakeholders, and guide technical tradeoffs in ambiguous situations.
- Mentor senior engineers and emerging technical leaders across the Banking organization.
- Contribute directly to design, debugging, rollout strategy, and implementation for high-stakes initiatives and critical-path decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including senior technical leadership on complex, multi-team initiatives.
- Track record leading architecture and delivery for large-scale distributed systems in product or platform engineering environments.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to turn complex technical and organizational problems into actionable plans.
- Experience improving reliability, operational excellence, and engineering quality in production systems with meaningful customer or business impact.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, design, operations, compliance, risk, and other functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Hands-on technical depth and sound engineering judgment, including implementation-level involvement when needed.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and scaling technical leadership across an organization.
- Experience in fintech, banking, payments, ledgering, or money movement systems is a bonus.
- Experience in highly regulated environments is a bonus.
- Experience leading large migrations, platform consolidations, or service modernization efforts is a bonus.
- Experience integrating external financial or infrastructure partners into critical product flows is a bonus.

- Hybrid role based in the San Francisco office with required in-office work three days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
