Base Salary
$240k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical vision for the Detection & Deception workstream from ideation through delivery, iteration, and deprecation.
- Design, prototype, and ship security capabilities within the NodeZero platform.
- Develop honeytokens, honeypots, deployment mechanisms, and detection logic for Tripwires, Rapid Response, and related products.
- Contribute production code at Lead/Staff level in Python, Go, Rust, or a similar backend language.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and product engineers to identify opportunities and deliver MVPs and production features.
- Translate ambiguous product goals into technical roadmaps and sequence MVPs effectively.
- Set technical standards through design reviews, code quality, operational discipline, and secure development practices.
- Mentor engineers, build frameworks and architecture, and hold the team accountable to outcomes.
- Document technical findings and methodologies for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency in large-scale Python software development.
- At least 4 years of experience building offensive or defensive security solutions, ideally involving endpoint security, threat detection, or low-level systems.
- Deep knowledge of network security topics such as reconnaissance and lateral movement.
- Proficiency with Active Directory, Windows authentication, and Windows internals.
- Strong understanding of SMB, WMI, and their roles in exploitation vectors.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or graph databases such as Neo4j.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Preferred certifications include OSCP, GCWN, or equivalent.
- Preferred experience includes red teaming, penetration testing, incident response, detection engineering, deception technologies, large-scale software projects, cloud environments, Docker, Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, Azure Service Principals, or AWS IAM.
