Base Salary
$120k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write firmware in C for STM32 microcontrollers, including motor controllers.
- Derive requirements and design, architect, implement, and verify embedded systems end to end.
- Bring up new hardware and debug issues with motor-control and electrical engineers.
- Support the mechanical team with new actuator design and verification.
- Diagnose board-level issues such as Ethernet PHY CRC errors using oscilloscopes, datasheets, and schematic analysis.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required for defense projects, and applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.
- 2–3 years of embedded C programming experience.
- Experience with an RTOS such as ThreadX, FreeRTOS, or Zephyr.
- Experience with at least 2–3 communication interfaces among SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, Ethernet, and BiSS-C.
- Experience with embedded peripherals including analog-to-digital converters, timers, Flash, EEPROM, and fRAM.
- Hardware debugging experience with an oscilloscope and/or logic analyzer.
- Software debugging experience with JTAG/SWD debuggers such as J-Link, Lauterbach, or Ozone.
- Ability to read schematics and understand signal flow.
- Preferred experience with DO-178C/DAL certification, motor control including FOC, Space Vector Modulation, and current loops, and sensors including Hall sensors and incremental or absolute encoders.
- Ability to work on-site at least four out of five days per week.
