Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and evolve Proton VPN Windows applications throughout the full application lifecycle.
- Implement features and collaborate with product managers and engineers across the company.
- Configure CI/CD, deploy releases, monitor production systems, and participate in operational incident response.
- Develop and integrate C#/.NET, WinUI, XAML, and cross-platform Rust components.
- Define, maintain, and improve unit, integration, and automated GUI testing using FlaUI.
- Drive technical change, lead complex engineering projects, and improve software architecture and performance on Windows.
Requirements
- Strong experience with C# and .NET development.
- Strong experience building and maintaining Windows desktop applications with WinUI, WPF, or similar frameworks.
- Understanding of MVVM, dependency injection, asynchronous programming, and event-based messaging patterns.
- Experience writing maintainable, well-tested, and scalable codebases.
- Experience driving organizational change and leading complex technical projects.
- Understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing concepts, and interest in VPN technologies and protocols.
- Experience with Windows debugging, profiling, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, gradual rollout, telemetry, metrics, monitoring, and alerting.
- Rust experience is a significant plus but is not required.
- Appreciation for user experience and design quality.
