Responsibilities
- Build on-device systems, OS daemons, frameworks, and SDKs that deliver ads across the Apple ecosystem.
- Develop systems that fetch, rank, and filter ad candidates and enforce advertising policy and legal compliance.
- Implement privacy protections before partner applications render advertisements.
- Design and operate high-performance client SDKs and libraries, including caching, versioning, breaking-change management, and feature-flagged rollouts.
- Work with cross-process communication, concurrency, synchronization, locking, race conditions, and deadlocks.
- Maintain complex, long-lived codebases that may include legacy components.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of OS fundamentals, including process and memory management, scheduling, and file systems.
- Professional software development experience in a C-like language.
- Familiarity with cross-process communication.
- Advanced understanding of concurrent programming concepts and design patterns, including multithreading, synchronization, locking, and reasoning about races and deadlocks.
- Experience building and operating high-performance client SDKs or libraries.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and communicate effectively.
- Preferred: ad technology experience and Apple-platform fundamentals, including Swift and Objective-C.
- Preferred: experience designing or maintaining public APIs or SDKs for external developers.
- Preferred: experience with Core Data, libdispatch, XPC, Swift concurrency, daemons, telemetry, observability, or client-server networking.
