Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and operate highly reliable billing services that impact revenue and customer trust.
- Build systems that ensure customers understand their usage and charges.
- Collaborate with Finance, Product, Customer Success, and Support teams to deliver robust solutions.
- Implement flexible pricing and billing capabilities for evolving cloud offerings.
- Build safeguards and validation systems to prevent billing discrepancies.
- Lead design discussions and review code to raise the technical bar.
- Guide engineers through design reviews and implementation.
- Design and build scalable billing systems, including usage metering and invoicing.
- Ensure accuracy and auditability of billing-related data and workflows.
- Develop real-time and batch processing pipelines for usage tracking.
- Build APIs that provide customers with insights into their usage and spend.
- Improve system observability and error handling for billing correctness.
- Contribute to architectural decisions for long-term scalability of the billing platform.
Requirements
- Experience building or working on billing, payments, or financial systems.
- Ability to own complex systems end-to-end with a focus on reliability.
- 5+ years of software development experience, including backend development.
- Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems with data consistency.
- Familiarity with real-time and batch data processing and event-driven architectures.
- Proven ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong focus on data accuracy and handling financial correctness.
- Experience building systems with strong monitoring and debugging capabilities.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering excellence.
- Ability to explain complex systems to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
