Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop Ethernovia’s embedded firmware, kernel/user-mode device drivers, stack extensions, debugging utilities, and test utilities.
- Architect, design, implement, test, and integrate device drivers into Ethernovia’s SDK.
- Integrate drivers with Linux and AUTOSAR communication stacks so applications, middleware, and operating systems can use the networking hardware.
- Develop firmware that configures, controls, and monitors communication devices and interacts with host systems through device drivers.
- Build automated unit and system testing for safety-critical automotive applications.
- Optimize embedded code footprint and performance and support hardware integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software, or a related field.
- 6+ years of work experience is required.
- Proficiency in C/C++ is required; Python experience is a plus.
- Experience developing software device drivers, preferably for communication devices such as Ethernet.
- Deep understanding of operating systems, kernels, and platform/device drivers, preferably with Linux, QNX, or a real-time operating system.
- Experience integrating and testing operating-system device-driver interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with hardware, embedded processors, firmware, and low-level code.
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR Communication Stack, MCAL, simulation and emulation platforms, GNU or similar compiler and debugging suites, and embedded programming is preferred.
- Experience with I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB, automotive or other safety-critical systems, MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO26262 is preferred.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including Ethernet MAC, PHY, switching, TCP/IP, security, SerDes, PCIe, NTB, and SR-IOV is preferred.
- Experience with version-control and code-review tools such as Perforce, Git, and Swarm, and build systems such as Yocto is preferred.
- Knowledge of virtualization, virtualized device drivers, mixed-signal systems, ARM processors, and bootloaders such as uboot is preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, attention to detail, and collaboration skills are expected.
