Responsibilities
- Lead development and begin architecting components of scalable, elastic distributed systems.
- Define scalability requirements and optimize code and data paths for high-throughput, hyper-scale workloads.
- Design fault-tolerant, in-service-upgradable systems using redundancy, replication, failover, partition policies, load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting.
- Establish KPIs and telemetry, and build proactive dashboards and alerts.
- Design fault-injection, brownout, replication, and synchronization validation for correctness and durability.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, mentor peers, and ensure operational readiness.
- Implement security controls, remediate issues, maintain compliance documentation, and develop infrastructure automation for safe patching, updates, and rollbacks.
Requirements
- Experience leading development and architecture of scalable distributed systems.
- Experience designing high-throughput, fault-tolerant, highly available systems and optimizing data paths.
- Ability to establish observability, validation, synchronization, and operational-readiness mechanisms.
- Experience with security controls, remediation, compliance documentation, infrastructure automation, and change-management processes.
