Base Salary
$220k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own products and systems end-to-end, from scoping and shipping through monitoring and post-launch iteration.
- Build backend and full-stack systems serving millions of users with high performance and reliability.
- Design clean, scalable APIs consumed by web, iOS, and Android clients.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and engineering teams.
- Run experiments, instrument metrics, and use data to guide product decisions.
- Raise the technical bar through code quality, architecture, abstractions, and mentorship.
- Work on product areas including content feeds, playback, discovery, social features, recommendation systems, AI-powered visual products, mobile-first APIs, and inference cost and latency reduction.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Backend or full-stack experience building consumer products at scale.
- Strong API design experience for APIs consumed by multiple client teams.
- Technical depth in at least one area combined with a generalist, execution-oriented approach.
- Ability to scope ambiguous problems, make tradeoffs, and drive work without a fully defined specification.
- Excellent written and cross-functional communication skills.
- Strong product intuition and focus on end-user experience.
- Experience with feed architecture, recommendation systems, content ranking, or search and retrieval at scale is a plus.
- Experience shipping consumer social product features such as follow graphs, notifications, engagement systems, or publishing flows is a plus.
- Hands-on AI image or video model inference experience, including diffusion models, token-based inputs, LoRA tuning, or inference optimization, is a plus.
- Full-stack capability with React, TypeScript, and NextJS is a plus.
- Mobile-first API design experience with iOS and Android teams is a plus.
- Experience building zero-to-one products and working on existing products in a startup environment is a plus.
- Web experience with Python, Django, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Postgres, or Redis is a plus.
- Technical leadership experience and a love of music are pluses.
