Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
  • Modernize legacy, monolithic, and database-centric applications by transitioning them to distributed cloud-based solutions.
  • Design and implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka and enterprise messaging technologies.
  • Build and support secure, reliable, high-performance REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Design, develop, and deploy solutions using AWS services including EC2, S3, SQS, and IAM.
  • Define architecture, engineering standards, and modernization roadmaps across multiple teams and initiatives.
  • Lead technical design reviews, architectural governance, and solution evaluations.
  • Improve performance, reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence across distributed platforms.
  • Drive automated testing, code quality, and CI/CD automation practices.
  • Optimize data access and processing across PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and distributed systems.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Platform Engineering, and DevOps teams on business-critical capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, reduce operational risk, and address technical debt.
  • Mentor engineers and promote software craftsmanship, engineering excellence, and technical leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience leading enterprise-scale application development, architecture, and modernization initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience leading modernization efforts involving legacy, monolithic, or database-centric platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture, microservices design patterns, and modern software engineering principles.
  • Experience in highly regulated, mission-critical, or large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and object-oriented software development.
  • Deep experience designing, building, and operating microservices-based distributed systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Expertise implementing event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka.
  • Experience using Redis for caching, performance optimization, and high-throughput processing.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, system integration, scalability, resiliency, security, and performance engineering.
  • Experience with asynchronous processing, distributed messaging, real-time integration patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment practices.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, data-intensive applications, and enterprise data processing.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring across complex distributed systems.
  • Preferred experience with Angular, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, container-based platforms, and modernization of mainframe or legacy enterprise applications.
  • Preferred experience in financial services, fintech, capital markets, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Ability to influence technical strategy, lead cross-team transformation, mentor engineers, communicate with technical and executive stakeholders, and drive execution across cross-functional organizations.
