Base Salary
$175k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, test, and ship trading protocols and features that meet functional and non-functional requirements
- Migrate remaining trading workflows onto the Aeron-based platform and design messaging patterns connecting it to the broader platform
- Support and maintain reliable, available services while addressing production issues and improving operational processes
- Optimize systems for scalability, performance, low latency, and high throughput
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects and contribute to a team-oriented culture
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in capital markets, trading workflows, or electronic trading systems
- Location in the U.S. Eastern Time Zone
- Proficiency in JVM-based languages, with Scala preferred
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable distributed systems
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, FIX, Kafka, or Aeron
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Ability to use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code while applying strong engineering judgment
- Understanding of low-latency, high-throughput systems
- Familiarity with software development life cycle practices, agile practices, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong system design, observability, testing, and continuous-improvement skills
