Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate foundational infrastructure for engineering teams.
- Own core platform capabilities including deployments and observability.
- Operate and evolve Zipline-managed Kubernetes clusters.
- Build software and tooling to enhance infrastructure usability.
- Collaborate with teams to understand and address infrastructure needs.
- Improve reliability and debuggability of distributed systems.
- Evaluate new technologies for practical application.
- Participate in on-call rotation and enhance systems for quieter on-call experiences.
- Raise technical standards through reviews and mentoring.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in designing and deploying cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience with production systems.
- Comfortable working across the technology stack.
- Strong bias towards automation and software-defined infrastructure.
- Sound judgment on using managed services versus self-hosting.
- Strong debugging skills for distributed systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High standards for reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Grit and resilience in fast-changing environments.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
