Responsibilities
- Contribute to experiments that improve search quality through better models, data usage, and evaluation tools under senior engineer guidance.
- Design and implement search platform and model-stack components for retrieval, ranking, and classification models.
- Train and evaluate models, including LLM-based approaches, for retrieval, ranking, and classification tasks.
- Support scalable and performant deployment and monitoring of search and ranking models.
- Build and iterate on RAG pipelines for grounding and answer generation.
- Collaborate with Data, AI, Infrastructure, and Product teams to deliver production machine learning improvements.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in machine learning and statistics, with coursework or projects related to information retrieval, ranking, or recommender systems.
- Experience with Python and common machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX through academic, open-source, or personal projects.
- Familiarity with offline model-quality metrics or A/B testing is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience through internships, research, or significant projects in search, recommendation, or NLP is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Rust is a plus.
- Self-driven, curious, willing to learn, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and able to demonstrate ownership.
