Responsibilities
- Develop Viasat’s instrumentation test and driver software.
- Develop measurement strategies for RF and digital test systems.
- Design, document, develop, and debug instrument driver APIs, services, measurements, and tests.
- Implement and leverage drivers, abstractions, libraries, and frameworks for scalable test solutions.
- Develop unit, integration, and automated tests.
- Collaborate with test engineers across groups to improve test strategies and ensure complete coverage.
- Improve test processes and software for quality, performance, reliability, repeatability, and cost.
- Review customer requirements and expand product definitions, software features, and capabilities.
- Support customer inquiries, feature requests, and issue reporting as needed.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional experience with RF and digital test instrumentation and measurement techniques, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, noise figure, spurious emissions, and IP3.
- Strong understanding of instrument communication, capabilities, file formats, and calibration types.
- Experience developing and debugging instrument driver APIs, including IVI, services, measurements, and tests.
- Experience with C# and TestStand.
- Experience working with version control, build automation, bug tracking, and test-driven development processes and technologies.
- A BS or MS in ECE, EEE, EIE, or a similar technical discipline is helpful.
- Familiarity with C, C++, Python, or LabVIEW is helpful.
- Familiarity with Nimbus, Visual Studio, and Git is helpful.
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
