Base Salary
$119k - $199k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, integrate, test, debug, and refine complex software applications and subsystems.
- Develop low-level firmware, device-driver, operating-system, and embedded software components for avionics platforms.
- Create software tools and subsystems supporting development, testing, reuse, efficiency, and robustness.
- Review designs, interfaces, requirements, specifications, test plans, procedures, and engineering documentation.
- Support system test programs, analyze test results, and maintain software throughout its lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to lower-level engineers, designers, support personnel, and multifunction teams.
- Plan projects, manage dependencies and resources, and develop technical approaches, allocations, and schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering with 8+ years of software development experience; alternatively, a relevant master’s or PhD with 6+ years of experience, or 12+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Advanced C programming experience in Linux, including TCP/IP network programming.
- Experience with shell scripting, Unix/Linux environments, algorithm development, data manipulation, and data aggregation or processing.
- Firmware or BIOS development experience using C/C++ and Python.
- Strong understanding of distributed processors, embedded systems, real-time constraints, performance, reliability, and system-level problem solving.
- Ability to lead multifunction teams, manage multiple priorities, modify processes, and contribute technically to successful products or projects.
- Strong written and verbal engineering communication skills and ability to interact effectively with senior internal and external personnel.
- Familiarity with network security methodologies is a plus, and multimedia application development involving streaming audio/video servers and clients is highly desirable.
