Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and build full-stack software systems and infrastructure for reactor design, fuel manufacturing, licensing, and plant operations.
- Build and iterate on web interfaces used daily by engineers, operators, and technicians.
- Integrate and extend PLM, ERP, MES, document, and records-management systems through APIs, message queues, and event-driven interfaces.
- Develop tooling that reduces manual document handling and preserves traceability from requirements through as-built systems.
- Own deployment, observability, monitoring, alerting, infrastructure, and on-call operational health for services.
- Design data models, interfaces, and access boundaries for consistent, auditable engineering, manufacturing, and quality records.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across client, service, data, deployment, configuration, and network layers, including during field commissioning and startup.
- Use and review AI coding agents and assistants in production software development.
- Lead design and code reviews, set technical direction, and mentor software engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience writing software and deploying it to production.
- Experience with both typed languages such as Java, C#, Go, or C++ and untyped languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Experience designing scalable systems, architecting solutions, and driving technical decisions across teams.
- Experience building and shipping end-to-end web applications, including user interfaces.
- Experience with cloud and containerized deployment, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and data modeling.
- Hands-on production experience with AI coding agents or assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, including verifying their output.
- Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a scientific discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred: experience with internal platforms or engineering tooling in hardware, manufacturing, aerospace, energy, or heavy-industrial companies.
- Preferred: experience integrating PLM, ERP, MES, LIMS, or document-control systems.
- Preferred: familiarity with regulated or quality-controlled environments and NQA-1, GAMP 5, or 21 CFR Part 11.
- Preferred: experience with industrial and operational data, historians, time-series stores, OPC UA, or MQTT.
- Preferred: experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud and on-premises deployment.
- Preferred: experience mentoring software engineers through design and code review.
- Preferred: experience building with LLMs and agents, including retrieval over technical documents, agentic workflows, evaluation harnesses, or tool integrations.
