Responsibilities
- Build full-stack web applications for production planning, work assignment, scheduling, and factory-floor operational dashboards.
- Develop offline-capable, mobile-friendly, touch-optimized interfaces for tablets and mobile devices in network-constrained manufacturing environments.
- Own Maritime-specific manufacturing software requirements and build-versus-extend decisions across MES, ERP, and related capabilities.
- Design and implement offline-first architectures using service workers, IndexedDB, local storage, and background synchronization.
- Implement synchronization, conflict-resolution, and data-integrity strategies between edge devices and backend systems.
- Deploy and operate applications across factory environments, edge compute clusters, and OT networks.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers, factory operators, backend engineers, data engineers, factory systems teams, and operations.
- Write production-quality code, comprehensive tests, and participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
- Join an on-call rotation supporting production factory systems.
- Set technical direction and mentor junior engineers on resilient, user-centered manufacturing software.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in a software engineering role building production systems.
- Deep expertise in full-stack web development across frontend and backend systems.
- Strong technical fluency in modern software architectures, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, and cloud or edge infrastructure.
- Proficiency with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and modern web frameworks.
- Experience building offline-capable web applications with service workers, IndexedDB, local storage, and progressive web app patterns.
- Experience building highly available, low-latency, or otherwise operationally constrained systems and large enterprise applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Bachelor-level degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
- Preferred experience includes manufacturing, industrial, OT-adjacent, MES, SCADA, PLC integration, factory automation, IoT, mobile-first applications, distributed synchronization, eventual consistency, GraphQL, real-time data subscriptions, and WebSocket-based architectures.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AI coding assistants, enterprise ERP/MES/WMS systems, manufacturing UX/UI, edge computing, assembly or production environments, and hyper-growth startup-like settings.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
