Base Salary

$150k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

Own and evolve foundational systems for WHOOP Enterprise, including APIs and account management.
Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for enterprise use cases.
Collaborate with design, analytics, and engineering teams to create scalable technical solutions.
Define technical direction, system architecture, and implementation standards.
Build systems with a focus on security, privacy, reliability, and correctness.
Develop observability and monitoring practices to ensure system stability.
Deliver high-quality, well-tested code following best practices.
Establish engineering foundations that scale, including documentation and mentorship.

4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend development.
Experience building and owning production backend systems and RESTful APIs, preferably in Java.
Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and identity management concepts.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
Experience designing services in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
Comfort with contributing to web applications, including those using AI tools like React.
Strong system design skills for building scalable and maintainable software.
Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Strong independent problem-solving skills and ownership over outcomes.
Clear communication skills and ability to articulate technical tradeoffs.
Builder mindset with an interest in shaping and scaling a platform and team.
