Base Salary
$135k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, maintain, and optimize high-performance, scalable backend services supporting operational data and AI systems.
- Build robust APIs for frontend developers and external systems, integrating server-side logic with user-facing features.
- Design efficient data structures and algorithms for large-scale, high-throughput data.
- Analyze and improve application performance, speed, scalability, reliability, and operational workflows.
- Establish coding guidelines, participate in code reviews, and promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with engineers, frontend developers, and technical and non-technical stakeholders across product boundaries.
- Support and maintain live backend systems and develop new features and improvements.
Requirements
- Experience designing and developing features and improvements for live backend systems, including supporting and maintaining production software.
- In-depth understanding of data structures, system architecture, API development for microservices frameworks, distributed systems, and backend best practices.
- Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or a similar field.
- Strong coding skills and proficiency in Java, C++, Python, Rust, or similar languages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to collaborate and iterate quickly, and a high standard for software quality.
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance.
