Base Salary
$118k - $173k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, product teams, and third parties to collect required data.
- Design, develop, and implement high-volume data models and pipelines for data lakes and data warehouses.
- Develop data quality checks, conduct QA, and implement monitoring routines.
- Improve the reliability and scalability of ETL processes.
- Manage data products that deliver high-quality, trustworthy data.
- Help onboard and support other engineers.
- Use AI coding tools throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, code generation, testing, monitoring, and release.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Python or Java.
- 3+ years of experience with ETL orchestration and workflow management tools such as Airflow, Flink, Oozie, and Azkaban using AWS or GCP.
- Expertise in database fundamentals, SQL, and distributed computing.
- 3+ years of experience with distributed data ecosystems such as Spark, Hive, Druid, and Presto, plus streaming technologies such as Kafka or Flink.
- Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, PostgreSQL, or other database platforms.
- Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
- Knowledge of reporting tools such as Tableau, Superset, and Looker.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to think strategically and analyze and interpret market and consumer information.
- Must be located near one of DoorDash's designated engineering hubs.
