Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop production-grade backend services and REST APIs for DOTA Back Office workflows, map-data delivery, release management, and Production Mapping.
  • Build data pipelines that ingest, transform, validate, store, version, archive, and distribute map data and metadata.
  • Define map-database foundations, including data models, schemas, interfaces, lifecycle strategies, partitioning, indexing, query performance, and platform evolution.
  • Perform software development across requirements, design, implementation, code review, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.
  • Deploy and operate cloud-native workloads using containerization, infrastructure as code, and automated CI/CD.
  • Improve reliability, scalability, performance, cost efficiency, and operational readiness of DOTA and map-data services.
  • Build automated map-data validation and release-readiness checks for safe, repeatable production releases.
  • Participate in production support through dashboards, alerting, runbooks, root-cause analysis, and incident prevention.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product stakeholders and mentor engineers through reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience developing and supporting production systems.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Java, Go, C++, or C#.
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful services, APIs, and backend applications.
  • Strong relational database experience covering SQL, schema design, data modeling, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and data integrity.
  • Experience with NoSQL, distributed, analytical, or cloud-native data technologies.
  • Knowledge of software design, algorithms and data structures, concurrency, error handling, performance tradeoffs, testing, code reviews, CI/CD, deployment, and production support.
  • Experience developing cloud-based applications with compute, storage, networking, security, and monitoring services.
  • Experience with Git-based development workflows and automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
  • Preferred experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform; Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Databricks, Apache Spark/PySpark, workflow orchestration, or event-driven systems.
  • Preferred experience with data-intensive systems, geospatial data, map databases, HD mapping, ADAS, autonomous or connected vehicles, OTA systems, or embedded/vehicle software platforms.
  • Preferred experience with high availability, horizontal scalability, disaster recovery, observability, and SLO-oriented operations.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development and Agentic AI concepts, including LLM-enabled tools, retrieval-augmented systems, automated triage, and human-in-the-loop workflows, is preferred.
