Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and ship high-scale, high-performance, highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud-based distributed systems.
- Build and maintain Java backend services and REST APIs for Apple customer support applications.
- Design schemas and optimize queries across relational and NoSQL databases.
- Apply concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization techniques.
- Partner with business leaders and multifunctional internal and external teams to develop solutions for sophisticated architectures.
- Build, test, deploy, and release containerized software applications on cloud-based Kubernetes platforms.
- Deliver testable, maintainable, and extensible backend code on schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- At least 3 years of experience implementing and shipping high-scale, high-performance, highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud-based distributed systems, including REST API implementation.
- At least 3 years of experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
- At least 3 years of experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot, including concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming principles, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD tooling, containerized applications, and Kubernetes cloud environments.
- Preferred experience with Spring WebFlux, Project Reactor, JUnit, Mockito, tooling languages such as Go, Python, or Ruby, and systems such as Airflow, Spark, or Flink.
- Preferred understanding of JVM internals, including garbage collection, memory allocation, JIT, and JNI, and networking concepts such as HTTP/HTTPS, CDN, edge computing, and load balancing.
