Base Salary
$157k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs used across Chainguard products and customer segments.
- Own features from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration in partnership with Product Management and the Experience team.
- Create technical design documents and independently drive design plans.
- Contribute to product roadmaps, prioritize tradeoffs, and ship iteratively against clear outcomes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production services and APIs in a modern cloud environment.
- Proficiency with Go or strong readiness to ramp quickly; the team writes everything in Go.
- Experience designing, implementing, and evolving externally and internally consumed public APIs, including versioning, backward compatibility, authentication, and usability.
- Familiarity with microservices, containers, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, observability, and resilient production services.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with product managers, designers, and engineers across multiple product lines.
- Ability to thrive in a remote startup environment and work independently amid ambiguity and high pace.
- Prior experience building platform or shared services spanning multiple products or customer experiences is preferred.
- Experience in cloud-native, containers, security, or the broader CNCF ecosystem is preferred.
- Meaningful open source contributions, particularly as a maintainer or regular contributor, are preferred.
