Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, debug, integrate, validate, and maintain embedded firmware for electric actuators and embedded products.
  • Translate product requirements into scalable, reliable, and maintainable firmware architectures.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and test engineering teams to support seamless product integration.
  • Analyze and improve firmware performance, reliability, and resource utilization.
  • Conduct firmware testing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect resolution.
  • Support product lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, design reviews, prototyping, certification, manufacturing support, and sustaining engineering.
  • Develop firmware in real-time operating system environments and apply industry best practices.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity-conscious product development and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Use development, configuration management, testing, and defect tracking tools to support product delivery.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, communication protocols, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience developing embedded firmware and understanding hardware architecture while working with hardware engineering teams.
  • Strong proficiency in C and/or C++ programming for embedded systems.
  • Experience developing firmware in RTOS-based environments and understanding real-time operating system concepts.
  • Understanding of 16-bit and/or 32-bit microcontrollers, microprocessors, peripherals, and embedded architectures.
  • Experience with low-level firmware interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, DDR, I2C, SPI, UART, and display systems.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP-based communication protocols and embedded device networking.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting products throughout the full product development lifecycle.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional and global engineering collaboration.
  • Preferred: experience with Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, HART, or Bluetooth industrial communication protocols.
  • Preferred: knowledge of IEC 62443 principles and cybersecurity-focused product development practices.
  • Preferred: experience with motor control, electric actuators, or industrial automation products.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Agile or SAFe methodologies.
  • Preferred: experience with source control, requirements management, defect tracking, testing, and continuous integration tools.
  • Preferred: experience contributing to complete product designs from concept through production release.
