Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, modernization, optimization, and continuous improvement of business-critical platforms and applications.
- Define platform strategy, roadmaps, technical requirements, architecture decisions, and execution plans with business, product, architecture, and engineering stakeholders.
- Drive platform stability, scalability, performance, security, observability, resilience, and operational excellence.
- Build and implement Generative AI solutions for productivity, automation, monitoring, search, and customer experience improvements.
- Implement and support OpenSearch/Elasticsearch enterprise search solutions and Dynatrace-based observability.
- Optimize Oracle/SQL databases and support mainframe applications, batch operations, and distributed systems.
- Provide production support leadership, including incident management, root-cause analysis, problem resolution, and service-quality improvement.
- Design and support APIs, platform integrations, microservices, and supporting infrastructure components.
- Analyze platform performance, adoption, and operational data to identify optimization opportunities.
- Guide development teams throughout the software development lifecycle and mentor developers.
- Ensure compliance with service-level agreements, security policies, regulatory requirements, governance standards, and BMO’s Risk Management Framework.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of experience in software development, platform engineering, application support, or related technology roles.
- Strong experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise-scale software solutions.
- Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, AI-assisted workflows, and enterprise AI adoption.
- Experience with Dynatrace or similar observability and application performance monitoring platforms.
- Experience implementing and supporting OpenSearch or Elasticsearch solutions.
- Strong expertise in Oracle, SQL, database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience supporting and integrating mainframe applications and infrastructure, batch operations, scheduling frameworks, and enterprise processing environments.
- Experience with production support, incident management, problem management, root-cause analysis, and operational excellence.
- Experience designing and supporting APIs, microservices, enterprise integrations, distributed systems, and application architectures.
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD environments and knowledge of cloud computing and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with secure software development practices and cybersecurity principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, stakeholder-management, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Large-enterprise or highly regulated-environment experience is an asset, and financial-services experience is preferred.
