Responsibilities

  • Build, operate, and evolve scalable Scio data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform for high-volume financial data.
  • Develop and enhance Java backend services supporting integrations across Spotify’s financial ecosystem.
  • Design data models and datasets for accounting, reconciliation, financial reporting, and operational insights.
  • Build integrations with external financial systems.
  • Translate accounting requirements into reliable and scalable technical solutions with Finance, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Improve the scalability, observability, resilience, maintainability, and monitoring of financial data pipelines and backend services.
  • Contribute to automated testing, continuous delivery, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience building backend systems and data-intensive applications.
  • Experience with Scala or Java and at least one distributed data-processing framework such as Scio, Apache Beam, Spark, or Flink.
  • Experience designing reliable backend services, scalable data pipelines, and data models for high-volume financial processes.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Flyte, Airflow, or similar technologies.
  • Commitment to continuous delivery, automated testing, monitoring, and production-quality code.
  • Experience in financial, accounting, or other regulated data domains is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
