Base Salary

$164k - $229k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and iOS, Android, and web engineers to translate user and business needs into reliable, low-latency technical solutions.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of major product initiatives, including technical designs, API contracts, development, testing, rollout, and observability.
  • Design, build, and evaluate A/B experiments using behavioral, conversion, and retention metrics.
  • Build and maintain scalable APIs and distributed backend services optimized for consumer applications.
  • Improve engineering practices and developer workflows, use AI-assisted tools, and mentor teammates.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on backend development experience building and operating large-scale distributed serving systems in high-concurrency environments.
  • Proficiency in Go or Python, or equivalent experience with Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C++.
  • Expertise designing and maintaining scalable APIs with GraphQL, REST, or gRPC for native mobile and web applications.
  • Experience with high-throughput caching layers and distributed datastores such as Redis, Cassandra, or PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, design experiments, establish performance metrics, and communicate effectively in remote or hybrid environments.
  • Experience or interest in using AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development workflows.

  • Base salary range of $164,000–$229,000 USD, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position offered.
