Base Salary
$262k - $364k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the long-term technical roadmap and system architecture for the NetSoft Design ecosystem across distributed network modeling, planning, and delivery systems.
- Lead the design and evolution of highly distributed, fault-tolerant software infrastructure for Google’s global network topology and traffic demand.
- Establish standards, guidelines, and unifying architectural principles across multiple software stacks to reduce redundancy and technical debt.
- Optimize architectural decisions for global performance, high availability, strict security boundary enforcement, and operational simplicity.
- Lead across multiple functional engineering teams and coach, mentor, and develop senior technical talent.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Eight years of experience programming in C++.
- Five years of experience with design and architecture, and testing and launching software products.
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale, fault-tolerant geographically distributed systems.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: Extensive experience coaching, mentoring, and developing executive technical talent and fostering engineering excellence.
- Preferred: Experience driving long-term technical roadmaps and architectural goals across multiple engineering teams.
- Preferred: Proven experience building and operating planetary-scale software infrastructure and optimizing performance and reliability for algorithmic, graph-based, or highly data-intensive domains.
