Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document client requirements and translate them into technical specifications and product or sprint backlog items.
- Design, write, debug, test, deliver, maintain, and support software applications, web features, client/server applications, and infrastructure.
- Develop and enhance Java applications using Core Java and frameworks such as Spring and JPA.
- Participate in unit, system, integration, and automated testing; develop test scripts, document results, and fix defects.
- Integrate third-party services and applications and provide server-to-mobile information delivery across systems and platforms.
- Ensure solution performance, availability, stability, on-time feature delivery, and production troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with users, visual designers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to develop user dashboards and application functionality.
- Prepare technical and procedural documentation and assist with web security, standards, and protocol improvements.
- Perform data benchmarking, performance analysis, and tuning for distributed, multi-tiered systems and databases.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Software development experience with at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, C++, or C# and object-oriented design experience.
- Experience with web technologies, RESTful services, microservices, server-side programming, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Core Java and Java frameworks such as Spring and JPA.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or other relational databases, including SQL querying and data analysis.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems, shell programming, scripting, open-source frameworks, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Experience with Python, Kubernetes, and cloud providers such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems and performance analysis or tuning.
- Familiarity with Agile and CI/CD toolsets including Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Nexus.
- Financial services experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, ownership, judgment, and decision-making skills.
