Responsibilities
- Build and ship daily features and capabilities in highly scalable, cross-geography distributed environments.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, product managers, and designers in an open and collaborative environment.
- Review code for readability, testing, documentation, reliability, security, and performance.
- Mentor teammates and share expertise through formal and informal knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Ensure visibility, error reporting, and monitoring for high-performing backend services.
- Participate in Agile development activities including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and product demos.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience building and developing backend applications.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with a preference for Computer Science.
- Experience designing and implementing highly scalable and performant RESTful microservices.
- Proficiency in a modern object-oriented programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Scala, or Python.
- Fluency in at least one database technology, including Oracle, Postgres, DynamoDB, or Cassandra.
- Hands-on experience with public cloud offerings such as AWS, GAE, or Azure.
- Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and software quality practices.
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.
