Responsibilities
- Contribute to core UI compositing and windowing infrastructure across Apple platforms.
- Work on scheduler architecture, event processing, security rendering, hardware integration, and legacy system support.
- Optimize systems for new hardware capabilities, performance, and battery life.
- Develop cross-platform features and work across low-level systems and compositing domains.
- Debug, profile, and improve complex systems with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Participate in mentorship, code reviews, and collaborative engineering work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and operating systems concepts.
- Ability to write code in C, C++, or another lower-level language through coursework or projects.
- Comfort working in Unix/Linux environments and using command-line tools.
- Some debugging experience, including experience from school projects or internships.
- Preferred experience with C, C++, Objective-C, memory management, threading, concurrency, graphics systems, display technologies, or hardware-software interaction.
- Preferred familiarity with lldb, gdb, Instruments, Apple platforms, operating systems, compilers, systems programming, or performance optimization.
