Base Salary

$125k - $190k/yr

Responsibilities

Develop backend services and features that interface with SwoopOS, frontend applications, and infrastructure systems.
Design and build SDKs for internal and external users and support third-party application development.
Author reusable Python packages for functionality shared across services.
Improve service availability and service-level performance, particularly for production Kubernetes workloads.
Tune data storage configurations for scale and near-real-time availability in a streaming architecture.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
At least 3 years of backend software development experience writing scalable code and/or modern APIs using databases and distributed data sources.
Proficiency in Python, including a strong understanding of data structures and data models.
Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment.
Understanding of basic software security standards.
Active US security clearance or willingness and ability to be sponsored for a US security clearance.
Experience with asynchronous Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Solr, or Rust is a bonus.
Experience handling multimedia data structures is a bonus.

Hybrid position based in Minneapolis/St. Paul or Washington, DC, requiring in-office work at least 3 days per week.
Travel requirement is 5–20%.
