Base Salary

$211k - $248k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable data services, pipelines, and storage solutions for unstructured application data used in ML training and evaluation.
  • Build and manage OLAP databases, ELTs, and data tooling for analytics, business decisions, and product features.
  • Collaborate with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Optimize data infrastructure for throughput, latency, and reliability.
  • Investigate and correct issues identified through data-operation monitors, tools, and reports.
  • Design data integrations and data quality frameworks.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Backend Engineering focused on data systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala, plus SQL.
  • Proficiency with at least one modern cloud provider such as GCP, AWS, or Azure and its accompanying data services.
  • Experience building systems that ingest, transform, and manage structured and unstructured data.
  • Deep knowledge of modern data infrastructure best practices.
  • Experience with distributed systems and distributed processing frameworks.
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies.
  • Experience building well-modeled, documented, understandable, and maintainable data products.
  • Ability to prioritize amid changing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Familiarity with deploying ML models at scale is a bonus.
