Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Utilize scripting and automation tools like PowerShell and Power Automate.
- Troubleshoot production issues of varying severity while maintaining SLA availability.
- Document incident response and resolution procedures according to SLA.
- Support production deployments, issue resolutions, and release management.
- Proactively identify, diagnose, and address system incidents and problems.
- Participate in planning for application, hardware, and software changes.
- Engage in pre- and post-change reviews.
- Manage troubleshooting, bug fixes, testing, and operational deployments.
- Handle service request queues and business/product support requests.
- Work closely with IT teams and vendors to understand architecture and propose system improvements.
- Document, communicate, and escalate technical issues while explaining business impacts.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standard operating documents.
- Design, implement, and operate retention policies and labels across Microsoft 365.
- Support data lifecycle and record management to meet legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
- Define and operate data governance standards in collaboration with Legal, Security, Compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Manage governance documentation, file plans, exception handling, and audit responses.
- Monitor and drive improvements in governance status and operational risks across collaboration platforms.
- Identify opportunities for governance operations improvement through scripting, automation, analysis, and AI workflows.
- Utilize AI tools to enhance reporting, knowledge base creation, documentation, issue trend analysis, and support efficiency.
- Safely implement and operate AI features in the M365 environment to minimize oversharing risks and meet compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Experience leading collaboration platform operations and governance in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong partnership experience with business, Legal, Security, and IT teams.
- Over 4 years of programming/scripting experience (Java, SQL, JavaScript, PowerShell, Python, etc.).
- Practical experience with Microsoft Purview.
- Understanding of data lifecycle management, records management, and retention policies/labels.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance across M365 workloads like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Experience translating legal, compliance, and business retention requirements into technical controls and operational processes.
- Experience in governance monitoring, audit/compliance support, policy rollout, and exception handling in enterprise SaaS environments.
- Experience improving operational processes, reporting, documentation, and support efficiency using AI or AI-based productivity tools.
- Ability to responsibly apply AI tools considering security, data governance, privacy, and accuracy.
- Basic understanding and experience with ITIL processes.
- Experience supporting API integrations (e.g., Microsoft Graph API).
- Availability for on-call rotation and off-hours support as needed.
- High technical understanding and willingness for continuous learning and improvement.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with relationship-building abilities.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to design solutions unconstrained by existing methods.
