Mission Software Engineer

- Own software solutions spanning core mesh platforms, data interfaces, and release management deployed directly to customers.
- Design and deliver scalable, reliable, testable, portable, and maintainable systems using modern software engineering practices.
- Translate complex end-user needs into software features while balancing user experience and engineering constraints.
- Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex cross-functional functionality.
- Create and analyze monitoring metrics, triage production issues, identify root causes, and coordinate resolutions.
- Travel 10%-30% to meet customers, understand operating conditions, and build, test, and deploy capabilities in the field.
Requirements
- Possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Netherlands AIVD Level A or Level B security screening.
- Have a strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in computer science, software engineering, networking, mathematics, or physics.
- Have at least 3-10+ years of experience working with programming languages such as Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python.
- Have experience building software involving significant data processing and analysis.
- Be able to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established codebases.
- Have experience with distributed systems and deep networking, particularly in non-standard networking conditions.
- Be familiar with AWS or Azure and software infrastructure fundamentals.
- Demonstrate understanding of computers and networks, from desktop systems through multi-cluster cloud nodes.
- Have professional software development lifecycle experience and familiarity with monitoring, logging, and data management tools.
