D-Wave SystemsResponsibilities
- Contribute to the full software lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, development, testing, validation, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Design, develop, and maintain software for quantum processor calibration, hardware interfaces, operational infrastructure, system testing, and monitoring.
- Own bug fixes, enhancements, new feature development, and technical investigations for the processor software ecosystem.
- Improve software architecture, reliability, maintainability, and performance through optimization, testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and software teams on initiatives spanning multiple teams.
- Mentor junior developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to process improvements, technical discussions, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting the availability and performance of QPU solvers on the Leap cloud platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience working on hardware-integrated systems.
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience designing and delivering complex software systems.
- Expertise developing high-performance software using compiled programming languages and multithreaded environments.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, algorithms, concurrency, and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing software interfaces to hardware systems.
- Experience developing reliable and maintainable software for complex engineering or scientific applications.
- Experience with Git workflows, including branching, merging, and pull requests, and experience working in Linux environments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and domains.
- Preferred experience includes Common Lisp or similar functional languages, Emacs, Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, SQL, MongoDB, InfluxDB, Grafana, Redis, hardware control systems, scientific computing, distributed infrastructure, quantum computing, embedded systems, or high-performance computing.
- Preferred experience includes using AI-assisted development tools or building AI-powered solutions to improve engineering productivity or automate workflows.
Benefits
- Base salary targeted between $150,000 and $206,000 CAD per year, with additional company ownership, bonus, perks, and benefits discussed during the interview process.
