Base Salary
$165k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead frontend architecture decisions involving component design, state management, rendering strategy, and application structure.
- Build performant customer-facing experiences end-to-end, including UI implementation, API integration, error handling, and production monitoring.
- Own frontend performance, including Core Web Vitals, rendering performance, and resilience during backend or third-party service degradation.
- Contribute to and evolve shared component libraries and design systems with a focus on consistency, accessibility, and developer ergonomics.
- Partner with product and design on interaction and UX decisions and communicate technical tradeoffs.
- Drive technical initiatives through design documents, RFCs, architecture reviews, and frontend patterns.
- Conduct code and design reviews and author architectural decision records.
- Mentor and develop senior engineers.
- Champion accessibility throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Evaluate AI-assisted development tools and help establish effective team practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of frontend engineering experience with staff-level or equivalent technical scope.
- Deep expertise with WebGL, GSAP, Framer, and Astro for performant, maintainable systems.
- Strong command of React and TypeScript, including advanced patterns, performance optimization, and application architecture at scale.
- Experience contributing to or owning component libraries and design systems.
- Strong UX and interaction-design instincts and the ability to translate design intent into maintainable implementations.
- Strong understanding of frontend performance, Core Web Vitals, SSR, SSG, CSR, code splitting, and bundle optimization.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards, including WCAG, and practical experience building inclusive experiences.
- Ability to lead technical work through design documents, architecture reviews, and cross-team influence.
- Clear communication skills for articulating frontend tradeoffs to product, design, and engineering stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically.
