Responsibilities
- Build and maintain simulation environments supporting mission analysis for large satellite constellations.
- Build hardware-in-the-loop rigs and software-in-the-loop environments integrated with automated test and release pipelines.
- Model and validate orbital and attitude dynamics, sensors, actuators, thermal behavior, and RF links using test and flight data.
- Produce trade studies, requirements evidence, and design recommendations from simulation results.
- Integrate partner and supplier models and hardware while resolving interface and fidelity discrepancies.
- Architect simulation environments supporting fast batch runs and full-fidelity wall-clock validation, including real-time and scheduling trade-offs.
- Contribute to mission and system design.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering both software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop systems with real hardware integrated into a simulator.
- Strong physics and modeling judgment, including the ability to assess model fidelity and limitations.
- Several years of production-grade software development in a large shared codebase.
- Proficiency in Python and at least one of Rust or modern C++.
- Ability to architect simulation environments for batch and real-time validation.
- Experience working with partners and suppliers and communicating technical results and limitations to non-specialists.
- Preferred experience in design-space exploration, Monte Carlo analysis, sensitivity analysis, trajectory or scheduling optimization, or surrogate models.
- Preferred space-domain experience including orbit propagation, six-degrees-of-freedom attitude dynamics, closed-loop AOCS simulation, ground station models, inter-satellite links, or payload models.
- Familiarity with distributed simulation standards such as HLA, DIS, or FMI, or with GPU and high-performance simulation, is desirable.
- Experience in automotive, robotics, autonomous systems, or supplier model-exchange consortium programs is desirable.
Benefits
- Competitive salary and VSOP options.
- Relocation support of up to €2,500 and four weeks of temporary accommodation.
- Annual learning allowance of €500/£450.
- Gym membership and mental health support through Nilo.health.
- Company events and monthly social allowances.
- Enhanced parental leave of 22 weeks fully paid for primary caregivers and six weeks for secondary caregivers.
- Five days of paid family emergency leave, 100% remote work during pregnancy, and phased return to work.
- Additional benefits may vary by location.
