Responsibilities
- Enhance and optimize the Linux kernel for AMD EPYC CPUs across PMU, core, cache, fabric, and virtualization areas.
- Design, prototype, and develop performance-metric evaluation frameworks for upcoming AMD platforms with hardware architects.
- Maintain and upstream Linux Perf events functionality for AMD hardware in collaboration with the Linux kernel community.
- Develop features for partner technical teams, review code, build unit tests, and write detailed documentation.
- Collaborate across hardware, firmware, power-aware application-stack, and global engineering teams.
- Support solutions offered by partner companies and lead collaborative approaches with global teams.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of Linux kernel development experience.
- Deep understanding of operating systems, data structures, Linux kernel development, and at least one general-purpose processor architecture.
- Expert knowledge of the Linux community and open-source software development workflow.
- Strong proficiency in C and x86 assembly programming for operating-system and systems development.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or computer engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of x86-64 architecture and experience with BIOS, UEFI, or firmware are advantageous.
- Exposure to KVM/QEMU and x86-64 virtualization extensions is a plus.
- Knowledge of the GNU toolchain and Git is a bonus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with willingness to learn new concepts and collaborate globally.
