Responsibilities

  • Own an end-to-end engineering project from coding and testing through production deployment and presentation.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and ensure the quality of shipped work, including AI-assisted code.
  • Debug issues, follow escalation procedures, and maintain high quality for systems supporting high-stakes legal work.
  • Collaborate through code reviews, pair programming, design reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Build knowledge of supported systems and users and contribute to product discussions.
  • Depending on team placement, work on document retrieval, AI collaboration interfaces, multi-region infrastructure, enterprise agents, secure client-data systems, or frontier-model evaluation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with graduation in December 2027 or later.
  • Previous internship experience is required; early-stage startup internship experience is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or Go, plus solid general computer science knowledge.
  • Able to work from the New York or San Francisco office during the summer cohort based on academic schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to build something from start to finish and make sound decisions with appropriate feedback.
  • Able to explain complex technical ideas clearly and seek and act on feedback.
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and interested in incorporating LLMs into coding workflows.
  • Willing to participate in AI-assisted coding interviews.

Benefits

  • 12- or 16-week summer internship.
  • Work location is the New York or San Francisco office; relocation support is available.
  • Hourly pay is $62-$72 in San Francisco and New York.
