Base Salary

$125k - $150k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, debug, unit test, integrate, and release production embedded firmware for consumer and home appliance products.
  • Develop device control, OTA, and differentiated product features while following established architecture, interface, and hardware abstraction layer standards.
  • Implement reference architectures and reusable platform components, including HAL layers, shared drivers, motor control, sensor and actuator integration, and power management.
  • Prototype technology options and turn architectural decisions into reference code and shipped features for internal programs and partners.
  • Review partner-developed firmware, integrate delivered code, and support partner technical capability assessments.
  • Maintain unit tests, code coverage, static analysis, CI pipelines, and test-harness infrastructure, while resolving critical and high-severity findings before release.
  • Verify that source code, toolchains, and build manifests can reproducibly rebuild shipping binaries.
  • Bring up firmware on target hardware and debug hardware-software integration issues with Hardware Engineering.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, NPD, regional firmware teams, and Principal Engineers on platform capabilities and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of embedded software and firmware development experience.
  • Experience delivering and shipping production firmware in commercial products.
  • Experience implementing reference designs, drivers, or platform components from documented interface contracts and architectures defined by others.
  • Strong embedded C and C++ experience on resource-constrained platforms.
  • Experience with RTOS, hardware abstraction layers, platform portability, microcontroller peripherals, drivers, and low-level hardware interfaces.
  • Experience with motor control, sensor and actuator integration, power management, OTA update mechanisms, and device security fundamentals.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows, CI builds using gcc and CMake, unit testing using Ceedling or an equivalent, and static analysis.
  • Ability to debug on target hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD, and trace tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with consumer electronics, home appliances, robotics, CI/CD, automated testing, embedded build infrastructure, or external development partner code review is preferred or advantageous.
